The Value of Elder Law to Financial and Insurance Professionals
This presentation will be an introduction to the area of elder law for financial and insurance professionals. With an aging population, we need an understanding of proactive planning for clients who have concerns about the rising costs of nursing home care and what capacity looks like for those individuals. The purpose of the program will be to provide some general knowledge about elder law and proactive planning. We will also address how elder law attorneys, financial professionals, and insurance professionals can work together for the benefit of the client.
The learning objectives for the program will include: (1) a general understanding of the meaning of proactive planning for aging clients as it relates to nursing home expenses and capacity, (2) a general understanding of determining the capacity of clients, and (3) how to work with other professionals to assist clients with these concerns about their future care.
